I'm using the asp-version and access as database-provider and there are several functions that doesn't work or
I get the error message ''inAudio was unable to update data in the access-database.''

If you are having problems with for example adding files to the inAudio playlist and you experience pages that just won't finish loading, the problem is probably related to the fact that the access-files for inAudio doesn't have correct security-settings set.
What this means is that the webserver doesn't have the rights to update the database. This is how you solve this.

Note:
If you are using Windows XP you need to make sure that "Use simple file sharing" has been disabled.
This is how you do that:

1. Click on the Start Menu.
2. Select My Computer / Tools / Folder Options.
3. Select the View tab.

4. Clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) box in the Advanced Settings area.
5. Press Apply and OK.

The screenshots below are taken from Windows 2000.
If you are using Windows XP or NT it will look different for you, but the way to do it is about the same except some small differences.

  • Open a new explorer window (start -> run -> explorer).

  • Navigate to the directory where the inAudio application-files are located.
    (for example: c:\program files\octagon inaudio\)

  • Double-click on the db-folder to open it.

  • Right-click on the playlist.mdb-file with your mouse.

  • Select "properties" from the menu that is displayed.

The properties-window for the current file should be opened.

  • Click the "security"-tab:

  • Click the "Add"-button.

The "Select users or Groups"-window will be opened.

  • Select "IUSR_nnnn" (where nnnn is the name of your computer) from the list.

  • Click the "Add"-button.

  • Click the "OK"-button.

You should now be back inte the properties/security-window.

  • Make sure that "Modify", "Read & Execute", "Read" and "Write" is enabled for
        the IUSR_nnnn-user.

  • Click the "Advanced"-button.

  • Uncheck the
"Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object"- checkbox.

    A message will popup.

  • Select the "Copy"-button.

  • Click the "OK"-button.

    A messagebox will popup.

  • Select the "Yes"-button.

  • Click the "OK" button in the properties/security- window.

    Hopefully. things will work now.

If you are still having problems, send an email about the problem.
