"The main new features in this release are:
- Password-protection:
You can now set a password for access to the
web-interface.
There is also an ""admin""-password that can be different
from the web-password.
Currently, the only administrative task you can do
from the web-interface is to start a new indexing-
process.
The passwords are set from the controlpanel.
- Indexing can be started from the web-interface
You can now start a new indexing-process from the
web-interface.
Requires ics (inAudio ControlServer) to be started.
- Bugfix for mySQL-server on linux.
inAudio 1.2 had some bugs causing which made it impossible
to use the linux-version of mySQL-server together
with inAudio. This is now fixed and I have successfully
setup the PHP-version of inAudio on a debian linux
machine using Apache and mySQL-server.
A windows-machine is still used for the
indexing-application.
- Automatic creation of file-lists.
You can automaticly create lists containting locations
of all files that gets saved to the index during an
indexing-process.
Either in pure text-format or in XML-format.
- Increased indexing-speed when working with slow(remote)
locations.
I've rewritten the way indexing is done which has greatly
decreased the time it takes to run an indexing-process
when indexing a ""slow"" location. Usually this means a
location not within your local network.
An indexing-process i tested went down from 13 minutes
to just above 2 minutes. When working with local (fast)
locations you probably won't notice any difference in speed.
- mySQL-server configuration doesn't require a password.
Due to demand from some users I've removed the check
for an entered password when setting information
for a mySQL-server in the controlpanel.
I dont recommend leaving a password blank anywhere
on a machine accessible from the Internet.
- Better playlist functionality.
The handling of playlists is improved:
- When using the detached winamp remote you can see
all songs in the playlist in the winamp you control
from winamp remote. Double-clicking on an item in
the playlist will cause that song to start play
in winamp.
- You can now remove items from the inAudio playlist.
All items in the search-results now have a checkbox.
Clicking this checkbox will put it in the current
inAudio playlist. Unchecking it again will remove
it from the inAudio playlist.
You can also add and remove entire folders.
Adding a folder now only adds that folder. In inAudio
1.2 and earlier, adding a folder also added any
subfolders there might be. This is now changed.
You will always see if an item is already in the
playlist since the checkbox for that file will be checked then.
- Exclude-rules.
You can now specify exclude-rules.
For example if you wish to index a location but exclude
a specified directory within that location you just set
up an exclude rule saying that you wish to exclude
""directoryname"" (without the quotes) if the name of
the directory you wish to exclude is ""directoryname"".
This is set from the controlpanel.
- Compact Mode.
If you wish you can enable the web-interface to use
a more compact look. This look removes most
text-labels allowing you to see more results
on the same page.
- Number of hits per page.
You can now change the number of hits you wish to
display on each page in the search-interface.
This is set from the controlpanel.
- Keep files on this location.
For each specified indexing location you can now check
the checkbox ""Keep files on this location"".
What this do is that files located on that location
won't be removed from the index in the next
indexing-process even if the indexer can't find them.
This is an option you should use for removable media
such as cd-roms and zip-drives.
With other words: Now you can index with inAudio even
if you have your music-collection on cd-roms for example!
Please note that this option does not work if you have
Access as your database-provider.
- File information.
In version 1.2 you could get information about a files
path by ""hovering"" over the search-result in the
web-interface.
Added in this version is that you instead can see these
things about a file:
- Filename
- Directory the file is located in
- VolumeLabel of the disk the file is located at
(good when you are indexing cd:s or other removable
media)
- Filesize (if enabled from the inAudio controlpanel)
